Johnny Herrera Snags Podium Run With ASCS Frontier At Big Sky Speedway

Bryan Hulbert – BILLINGS, Mont. (June 9, 2019) Taking laps this past Saturday night with the Brodix ASCS Frontier Region, New Mexico’s Johnny Herrera rolled across the line third in the Hayashi/Ostermiller No. 12h in only his second ASCS sanctioned outing of the 2019 season.

“First, I need thank Michael Hayshi for letting me get in his car and race and Chris Stivers for coming up and helping wrench on the car. That was a big help to allow me to focus on, and work on Harli’s car during the night and being able to just get in the car and race,” stated Herrera.

Making the nights redraw with a run from fourth to second in his Heat Race, Herrera drew the same starting spot in the A-Feature. Getting to third at the start, Herrera kept pace for most of the race, but was unable to challenge Harli White or Jordon Mallett for the lead.

“Overall, I was happy with the run. We weren’t bad, we just didn’t have the speed that Harli and Jordon had. Had the car a little off all night it seemed, but it was a lot of fun to get back behind the wheel. I feel like if we’d had a little more time to work and tweak on the car, it would have been faster."

As far as when Johnny will be in action again, he said time will tell, “I have a few more races I want to run this year, but it all depends on time and what we have going with Harli’s car.”

The 2019 season marks the 35th year of racing for Johnny Herrera which includes over 140 victories in various forms of Sprint Car competition. For more information, and to keep in touch with the man called “Hollywood”, log onto to http://www.johnnyherreraracing.com.
